Mental Health Assessment

Men's Foundation's mental Health Assessment is designed to evaluate an individual's emotional, psychological, and behavioural well-being. It helps identify strengths, challenges, and potential concerns related to mental health, providing valuable insights for personal growth, support, and intervention if needed. This assessment can be used for self-reflection, professional evaluations, or as a guide for seeking appropriate mental health resources.

Welcome, everyone. Today, we're discussing a topic that often remains in the shadows—men's mental health. It's time we bring light to these conversations to support and empower each other.

Despite progress in mental health awareness,  many men still face significant stigma when it comes to discussing their mental health. This stigma often discourages them from seeking help, leading to prolonged suffering.  We need to change this narrative and encourage open, honest conversations.

Studies have shown that men are less likely to seek help for mental illness than women, yet they account for the majority of suicides worldwide. According to the World Health Organisation, one man dies by suicide every minute of every day.  This alarming statistic highlights the urgent need for change.

Let's hear from John, who has graciously agreed to share his story.  John struggled with depression for years before reaching out for help. His journey towards healing began with the realisation that asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.

So, what can we do to support men's mental health? Encourage the men in your life to speak openly about their feelings. Create a safe environment for these discussions. Additionally, sharing resources, such as hotlines and professional help, is crucial in aiding their mental health journey.

By supporting men's mental health, we're paving the way for a healthier, more understanding future for everyone. Remember, mental health is just as important as physical health, and seeking help is a sign of strength. Thank you for joining this crucial conversation.
